Document fraud detection

Detect a fake bank statement

Bank statements and bank details are required to open an account, get a loan, rent a home or onboard a new supplier. An inflated balance or a replaced IBAN can be costly. Docusan analyzes the document you receive and flags traces of editing.

Typical frauds

The most common forgeries

01

Inflated balance or income

Credited amounts or the balance are increased to present a more favorable financial situation.

02

Hidden transactions

Lines are deleted or rewritten to hide payment incidents, debts or revealing expenses.

03

Replaced bank details

The IBAN on a statement or bank details document is changed to divert a transfer, a refund or a supplier payment.

FAQ

Your questions

Does Docusan detect an edited IBAN?

Docusan detects traces of document editing: metadata, PDF versions, retouching and copy-pastes on an image. If the IBAN was replaced by editing the file, these traces are flagged. Docusan does not check the IBAN with the bank.

Can all the statements of a single file be analyzed?

Yes. With the Business plan and the API, analyses can be grouped by folder or by account, which makes it easier to review a complete application.

Are statements in foreign languages accepted?

Yes. Docusan accepts documents in any language: the checks on the file and on the image do not depend on the language of the document.
